Nibble

What is nibble Meaning:

Nibble comes with few different definition as a word in it self. First of in general and literally, nibble simple means to take small bite bit by bit more like a chewing process.

Furthermore, nibble can also be seen as the plain act of biting someone or something gently and in a repetitive manner.

So that means nibble as a word when separated can be seen as the act of repetition and also the act of biting gently.

Therefore, nibble is a Verb in English classification of words. Which means an action word. A word that has to do with doing things. Or making things happen.

In other usage it can also be used as a Noun.

Usage of Word in English:

The term nibble can both be used as a Verb and as a Noun. For example:

  • Hey!, Harry do you have some edible at home we can nibble before the drinks arrive.
  • The boy nibbled the cats ear

In the second example above, the term nibble was used in the past tense. Representing the boy action of gently biting the cat’s ear in the past.

In this case the term nibble has been used as a verb. Which is an action word.

In another example given below. The term nibble is used as a Noun as shown:

  • A small nibble of the peanut wouldn’t be a bad idea.
  • You can have a nibble of both to know the most tastier.

 Meaning in Computer Science:

In addition, in computer terminology and IT/Technology world the term nibble connotes a different meaning.

Which means a 4 bit data set which is equivalent to twice a byte. That means two nibbles gives a byte. Or half a byte gives one nibble.

A byte simply means collection of 8 bits. A bit is either 0 or 1 in computer science and modern day computing systems.

Therefore, a nibble can be seen as 4 zeros as in=0000 or 4 ones as in=1111 or the the permutation of both zeros and ones to give a 4 digits binary as in, 0011, 1100, 0101, 1001 etc.

In the past during the pre-internet days, nibbles have been used as units of computer data processing in processsors and what is called microcontrollers. Such as in the design of IBM Systems and Apple’s disk data management systems. Which requires a well classification of data in their various forms.

Some cats due to stress of some kinds go further to suck the skin or to bite the clothes of their owner. It’s a complete normal thing. Nothing to worry about.

The nibbling behavior that looks like biting is a way your cat may use to relief stress of some kind.

Another last thing that can cause nibbling is when cats have become over excited or over excitation. When this occur they play and show affection profusely in the form of slight bites, cuddling, nibbling etc.

Nibbling Dog:

Just like humans, as in babies. Dogs, especially puppies (young dogs) love to play and cuddle.

By so doing they perform all forms of gestures and also licking and nibbling with the owner. Therefore, nibbling is a normal thing for dogs as this habit is learnt overtime in the companies of other dogs.
