Facebook Messenger Now has support for Video Calls on iOS and android.
Facebook messsenger has officially been updated with group video call feature on iOS, android and desktop. This means participants can video call among themselves. Video chat feature seems to be what is trending in the IM space, from the new Duo to Whatsapp update on video.

Here’s a post by David Marcus, on the new update of Facebook Messenger:

“Chatting face-to-face live as a group is perfect for those spontaneous moments when text just isn’t enough… or when you have a major case of FOMO. It’s the best way to share the news you just got a job (or into college), have your kids wish grandma a happy birthday, tell a funny story to the people you love or just see your friends live while wearing fun 3D masks (iOS only for now – Android coming soon) to an everyday conversation.”

The new feature: Video group chat, on Facebook Messenger can take up to 50 participants at a time in an ongoing video call while only 6 people are seen at a time. In addition the 50 participants can also responds via GIf’s, Stickers and emojis.

To use this feature, simply create a new chat or enter an existing conversation. Next, tap on video icon on the top right side to initiate the conversation. The participants in the group will inturn, be notified.
