Samsung Galaxy S8 release for 2017 is all set. The flagshp by the Korean Giants have attracted much rumours and speculation on specs and other details across the web. Such that, it is almost impossible to sieve out facts from mere speculation regarding the S8 specs. There was a previous post on S8 Plus specs. Samsung Galaxy S8 will be available in two variants with dissimilar sizes. A 5.8 inched screen Galaxy S8 and a 6.2 inched S8 Plus, on a previous post. Another fact is, both models will sport super Dual Curved Amoled display with an out of the box aspect ratio, 18.5: 9. This aspect ratio will overhaul the normal 16:9 aspect ratio implemented on most smartphones. The display will also be a pressure sensitive one, a think 3D Touch display.
Samsung Galaxy S8 sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, which means more battery life for the non-removable 3500mAh capacity battery. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset is made from a 10nm manufacturing process, which boast of 11 percent increase in performance as compared to S7, a 23 percent better graphics and a 20 percent increase in energy efficiency. What this means, is that, the chipset implemented on Galaxy S8 will consume less power with higher performance, therefore translating to a higer battery up time.
Samsung Galaxy S8 has 12 MP rear camera unit with f/1.7 aperture. The front facing camera is 8MP with f/1.7 aperture and an iris scanner close to it. The smartphone features a new visual search function. Icons appearing on the screen that allow the user to indicate the type of search to be performed. More like an OCR enabled web search on a photographed text.
Samsung Galaxy also comes with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking of the device, located at the back, just as in most Xiaomi’s Smartphones. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the bottom side of the smartphone, below the camera.
Good news for most people who disliked Apple’s idea, of completely removing the 3.5mm jack from iPhone 7 and its replacement airpods; Is that, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with 3.5mm headset jack placed next to S8 USB Type-C port.
Samsung Galaxy S8 also features the DeX Experience which brings Continuum kind-of function to the smartphone when connected to a monitor screen and keyboard via a special docking made exclusively, and can be purchased.
Samsung Galaxy S8 runs Android 7.0 Nougat. The flagship device will come with Bixby virtual assistant with ability to handle complex commands like a breeze. The Bixby Virtual Assistant can simply be run, by just, pressing onto a dedicated button, just at the side of Galaxy S8.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will be made official at an event set in New York, on March 29. And will be available for purchase in April, 21, 2017. The price of Samsung Galaxy S8 will go for around €799- €899. That is around, 376,000 -400,000 Naira in Nigeria.
