Oppo R17 impresses with cool design and in-display fingerprint in Youtube video review. Oppo R17 falls in the midranger category and also a continuation of the R-series line up. The most evident design in the new Oppo R17 is the display design and use of the new in-display fingerprint feature for the security. The in-display fingerprint reader adapted by R17 are for almost bezeless design phones which can’t accommodate the use of a bottom front fingerprint sensor on the screen.

The Youtube Video shows how this feature works and similar to the normal unlocking techniques adopted by previous releases. To use the in-display fingerprint feature, a user have to touch the bottom side of the display with the finger which lights it up and in turn unlocks the smartphone. In terms of speed, this new technique may not be as fast as the traditional biometric unlock used in the past, but, still as fast as you would hardly notice.

Coming down to the specifications, Oppo R17 is powered by a Snapdragon 670 chipset by Qualcomm and boast of being the first smartphone to use this chip. The Snap Qualcomm 670 chipset runs at a max out clock speed of 2GHz. The smartphone RAM is 8GB to handle all of the multitasking needs and houses a 128GB of built in memory. As for the camera, we have a 16MP+20MP Dual rear setup of f/1.7 aperture and a 25MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of design, the Oppo R17 has a minimalistic type of notch, around it, you only find a front selfie camera and nothing else. The smartphone comes with a glass back+aluminium crafted frame. Available in Stream blue and Neon purple. As for the screen display, the smartphone comes with a 6.4 inches Full HD+ Resolution sporting 1080*2220 pixels  and also, OLED panel which also houses the in-display fingerprint sensor.
